Vision Difficulties Make Learning to Read Impossible
In rare cases a student may have vision difficulties that make it impossible for him or her to learn to read. This is because he may have double vision or another vision problem. In general, the problem does not affect items in the distance, but does occur when the student looks at letters on a page, which are much smaller than items at a distance.
That’s the bad news.
The good news is that these difficulties can be corrected by an eye specialist and usually are completely correctable with glasses or with eye exercises or more advanced medical techniques. Contact the College of Optometrists in Vision Development at the following link:
They can recommend a specialist near you. This is not your normal eye doctor, but a doctor who is especially trained to correct multiple vision difficulties.
